One of the most unique promotions we see is to help your potential competitors in town. Running a small business is hard enough without competing with other people just like you. Why not do something different and team up?
It works like this. . . Find someone you know that is either slightly different concept, think pizza working with a burger shop, or is on the other end of town. Both of you agree to a specific discount when presented with a receipt from the other place.
One example would be 50% off (up to $5.00) any menu item at the other business and then you offer 50% off (up to $5.00) with a receipt from their business. Another, possibly better way, would be do offer a free appetizer with a purchase when showing the receipt from the other store.
The key is for you both to share your customer base and encourage them to explore each others menu. Most of your customers are not just ordering from you anyway. Isn’t it better to have them order from someone actively promoting you? Customers will thank you for introducing them to new food and you have the opportunity to gain some business.
